Guild

The Guilds
This world implements an extensive Guild system.
Guilds are Patrons (And as such, do cost character points, contact
me for costs, there may be extra costs if you wish to belong to a
specific guild house [See below]) that can provide advice, training,
occasional assistance, and sometimes equipment (or discounts on
equipment from guild run or sponsored shops). Belonging to a guild
can have its ups and downs, just like membership in any organization.
Being a guild member is ENTIRELY up to the player, but I feel
responsible to let them know a few things about them. For starters,
certain “classes” may have a hard time if not guild members (namely,
the more shadowy ones, such as the Thieves Guild, and the Assassins
Guild, to name but two examples.) Whether you join or not, chances
are being in, or not being in, a guild can effect you in a major way.

Some guilds are actually divided into lesser parts
called houses. These houses are generally organizations within the guild
that share like-minded views. Some houses are actually groups of people
who specialize in a specific area of the general guild class. For example:
“The House of the Clouded Eye” is a group within the Wizards guild that
specializes in illusion magic. “The House of the Falling Tear” is a group
among the Assassins Guild who specializes in poisons. Sometimes the more
political ones get caught up among themselves in inter-guild politics.

If you have an idea for a guild, or guild house, make sure to
get my approval before “joining it” (I will have to give a CP cost for
it anyways ). Also, some guilds are publicly known, some are known in
the “underworld” or to those privy to such information. Some are secret
societies that the only ones who know of there existence are the members,
and a rare few individuals. Most guilds have a symbol that identifies them,
as well as house symbols, quiet often a house symbol and guild symbol will
be combined to form a symbol of its own.
